StayA Poem by PHFASCESa little something that came up after helping a friend get out of their state of depressionI wanted to run away Leave everything behind Find a new shell Live at the bottom of the ocean Live and be the water Alone in the dark depths of the
sea But as I was leaving she told me
to stay
I tried to end my life Hang from nature’s arms But she grabbed my hand She held me tight Tears in her eyes She told me “stay”
I tried to slip away And embrace the fire But there she was Waiting at the hearth She told me to stay Said I was all she had And apart from her life, mine
was her bliss She is in-existent. A fragment of my consciousness Created to keep me sane. © 2015 PHFASCESReviews
