Mortal Breath

Mortal Breath

A Poem by Light
"

i dunno where this came from but it came....(that's what she said...should i change the audience now...lol)

"
Dead Men (November 2010)
Dead men tell no tales

My son,
But
Mortal breath pass
Earthly steps
And
Eternity is echoed
In words,

So

Speak with temper'd breath
My ignoble flesh
And let your mouths
Forever run on.

"Dead men tell no tales" they do tell tales, just look on the graves and you'll know : "Nothing last for ever" and even the dearest people you loved will leave you when in grave...

In other hands they "tell" no tales just because they're dead !

Love this one

Brilliant on every and each word

and love also that you made it short because else the meaning will be lost

Best wishes

Peace

Woe... nicely said. I love the advice; sweet wisdom comes on strong yet noble!

This sounds like it came from an old soul. I truly enjoyed the image it conjured of an old pirate telling tales to young ones gathering around the dock. My favorite part : Speak with temper'd breath
My ignoble flesh
And let your mouths
Forever run on.

Short and pointed. Very nice. "Eternity is echoed in words" - truly.

Really like this- it has an odd rhythm to it, but I really love it. It's its own thing, and really works here, though I'm not sure someone else could pull it off. My only suggestion would be to change the last line to "Run forever on," as its current state feels a bit weird in my mouth. Just a thought though.
Really great piece :)
