Child of the Night

Child of the Night

A Poem by Light
"

I was reading Henry IV Part 1 & 2 and Henry V (Shakespeare) and this is somewhat related to the transformation of Prince Hal to Henry V; or at the very least, that's what ignited the chain of thoughts

"
Child of the Night (November 2010)
I miss the days when
I would howl at the Moon.
Oh child of the night
Who grew up too soon.
Who shared kinship
With Martians
And darkness
Your rogue.
Oh child of the night
How I miss you so!
The whimsical songs
That you and I sang.
Mischief we caused
When Puck and I played.
Oh child of the night
Where have you gone?
As I sit in the Sun,
Scared and undone.

.
. the melancholy is unmistakable ... and the brevity makes this intense ... the last four lines are particularly amazing ...
