A love poem.

Love Eternal (March 2010)

I’ve witnessed trees 

Shrivel and die

And seen darkness 

Cover the sky

And watched rivers 

And oceans dry

 

But my love will never die

 

I’ve witnessed the 

Earth pass away

And seen glowing 

Stars long fade

And watched tomorrow 

Turn to today

 

But my love will still remain

 

After we both grow old

And no longer count the days

After God collects our souls

And existence fades away

After eternity abruptly ends

And God passes away

 

Always know my love will stay

 

When day becomes night

And night becomes day

When memories have faded

And the Earth is remade

You’ll be approached by a stranger

With something strange to say

He’ll simply say “I told you”

 

“I’ll forever love you, always”

Beautifully written - it flows really well. This is something that I think we all search for - someone to say 'I'll love you always' and really mean it...
