Duets

The song that governs life and all things. A ''duet" involving the Creator and created.

Duets (2009)

God hummed with the wind,

 Creating forever with a song.

A lovely duet of life and death

That subtly flows through all.

Gradual crescendos filled the earth

As grass grew and flower bloomed.

And simple duets grew more complex

As creation gently joined in too.

We hummed with God and sang his song

And soon transposed his melody of all.

Writing down a symphony 

Of our own accord;

We constructed a new world 

That we loved and adored.

A cacophony of chaos within our chords;

A once complex song that is sung no more.

For we could not mimic the key of life and

The grass and the flowers all became quiet

Amazing...The music of God creating is far away from the human music...

I love the musical imagery in this poem. I don't know why, but the idea of God humming is funny to me :) like a "whistle while you work" thing.
