A Poem by Brandon Hontz
"

I'm a hippy pretty much

"

You've got me sitting here missing you,
and I don't know why.
It's been only a couple days,
but I almost wanna cry.
I never thought that something this strong would come from nowhere,
and maybe it's just the loneliness, and all of the despair,
but you've got me sitting here missing you, girl,
and that's something I haven't done in awhile,
but I know that the next time I see your face,
i'll just share with you the biggest smile.

I remember when I first saw your house,
how I knew i've seen it once or twice before.
Maybe gone there during childhood, or in a dream,
but this isn't the first time i've came knocking on your door.
I hope this isn't just another of those temporary things,
both on my part, and on yours,
but if things weren't to end up right,
I know that i'd always want more.
I would never say no,
and I would never give up.

You've been to my house too,
the place where the memory-stained dresser stands like a monuement to my "glory".
The place that i've been sleeping for a couple years now,
the place where I could tell you most of my story.
"There's a young boy, alone, with the music of his heart,
and someday soon he's going to stop falling apart,
because with feeling renewed, and youth everlasting
i'll keep speaking the truth, about how well we're contrasting.

There could be a million people saying no,
but if even one says yes,
then there is something that is there,
a bittersweet sort of bliss.
I would never say no,
and I would never give up,
saying that
"War is overrated, and love will always be enough."

This is a wonderful poem. It's not exactly sad, so I can't accept it in the contest, but you did such a great job that I had to say so. :) Thank you for entering! If you have any sad poems feel free to submit them if you haven't already.
