Stood Ever So TallA Poem by Brandon Hontzthis is from when I first started writing, I found the notebook copy that I wrote like 3 years ago.Baby, light a candle, and pray yourself to sleep. Let me hover over you, and wish you starlit dreams. Don't bother waiting up to hear me tip-toe out. I don't see why you would wanna turn back my way, so don't waste your breath to shout.
I'm leaving on this sort of holiday, to be off on my own. To let you see just what it's like, to let our true feelings to be shown. I'm leaving on this holiday, please, just don't take a look, i'll be gone, and you'll move on, no longer left dusty on a shelf like a book.
On the tree of life, we're single bulbs. We are very bright together, but not so bright alone. We can burn out, or break, or fall, but forever we had stood ever so tall. © 2008 Brandon HontzReviews
