Hearts We Never HadA Poem by Brandon HontzYou know it's pouring outside, so I think we should stay in. Maybe try to find a place to hide, even though the fear comes from within.
Staring out these windows, watching this sinful world outside. I'm not really sure if it's something to embrace, or just another reason to hide.
These lands have become so hated, tainted so badly, they've become saturated. It always makes me wonder "Why should I go outside?", into this beautiful wasteland, this sinful world of mine.
Alone, and wet, I can see it now; the end of the world was we know it. I know I can't ask, but I still wonder how, maybe it was the love we didn't show it.
I know that it is raining, but I think i'll step outside, sit out on the porch, and look up at the orange skies. It's stunning to see everything fall apart, in this sinful world of mine. © 2008 Brandon HontzFeatured Review
