A Poem by SoozProtege
"

I dedicate this piece to my sister Suzy, I owe her all the praise of my talents I've ever gained from my writing. She passed in 2015 and I took a 3 year break in writing. Speaking with another poet la

"

The Sister Tutor:

You said my writing was dull, you said my spelling was weak.
Talking down from your thrown, you said my grammar was bleak.

You told me write from the heart, never lead with your mind.
"If you do as I say, you'll leave the competition behind."

I heard what you said, took a breath, soaked it in.
Painting words from within, with the point of my pen.

Falling forward at best, "Please teach me your technique".
"Reach past your soul to gain my heart felt critique"

You called me in pain, going into your surgery.

"I'm tired, sweet brother, take me along on your journey.
Thundering memories, transforming rain clouds.

I'm striving within, making you proud.

Thank you so very much. I believe you are right. I feel her smiling often.
