The WavesA Poem by Brad PStaring at my reflection in the water, Softer than I remember, Go back to that September, hear the crashing waves, The water's moving fast, I recalled that crash for days, It appeared that I was drowning-- But I was safe upon the beach, At least a few feet from the water's reach, Why did I step closer? And then closer still, the strong current came in for the kill. I took a breath, then relaxed as the water came upon me, I felt it's strength, I felt it's fury, I felt the cold, thought the chill would cure me of my thoughts, But it just lured me until I was lost amongst the waves... © 2016 Brad PReviews
