Astrid Speak

Astrid Speak

A Poem by Brad Nugent
"

Written for Starfish's Nonsense Competition

"
learn to spell the treat 'bajingus'
spin sweet VJ on the Jay-Jay
mimic mewling of a bluejay
hobnob via corn cob lingus

- stinging snigger septic stains
dripping from the zoosfer foster
buy solutions via roster
- MRI alzheimic brains

you know I found one that I like
colloguing in the willowwacks
- hunkered down brown tater sacks
and finding that the fit was right

we stombled on the wimple worn
haranguing crowds of maple peeps
massaging variegated leafs
until new stimple tops were born

Why I chose this piece above the rest was because of its sound-sense. It is like a Jazz number being read to you. I love made-up words - and it seems you employed loads of those. Hey, why does Shakespeare have to be the only person to make-up new words?

The end wants to make me laugh, scratch my head, and meet you for tea. Thank you for the entering the contest.

Goodness Brad, what to say? Kind of "stream of consciousness" write which surprisingly worked very well. Had to read it a few times to try and get the gist of it, but no matter it was a very pleasing piece of work in my opinion.

Haaa, I get it, should have read the description at the top first! Understood completely (sort of) now lol!

not sure i quite understand it.
however it has a certin pull to it
that makes me love it anyway,
like a song in a different languge,
you dont understand a word.
but you love it all the same.
thats how this makes me feel :)
well freaking done!

This should be read out at her wedding, if a certain person makes an honest woman of her!
