Hiking On Cliff Tops

Hiking On Cliff Tops

A Poem by Brad Nugent
"

Written for the Creative Poetry Group - using the words: abstruse, tarnish, vat, beguiling, Tarpeia, waffle-stomper..."

"
there lies abstruse some contradiction in the word
and that belies the lustful tarnish of your skin
reflections of gold dispensing knowledge too absurd
abandoned and drowning in your own vat of sin
beguiling all the day hopping cross rocks and roots
as tiny-tipped Tarpeias reach for reprisal
painting honey soles onto waffle-stomper boots
apt redemption as a tool of self-despisal

This came out very well and the use of the words in simply stunning. I love the last stanza the most. Wafflestompers was a hard word to fit into these poems.

Very talented use of the words. Utterly astoudning. Loved it. :)

Wow, this is completely different from anyone else's approach to these words. Your use of language is so clever.

I feel like such an amateur in comparison but happy to learn by your example!! lol

This is was quite brilliant, Brad, even by your standards! Ingenious use of the words to create a story. Ah, if I had even an ounce of your talent ... =)
