Aftermath

Aftermath

A Poem by Brad Nugent

inferno from unearthly womb
explodes with vast discordant bursts
symphonic hammer tolls the truth
of opera singing life undone
withholding the pretentious taste
of self-indulged metallic soul
beneath our toil, the last, the first
the reasons why are left unknown

I love that you pack so much into such a short poem. I think that it takes a skilled writer to recognise when less is actually more in terms of artistic delivery.

It is perfect, complete...

This has very vivid imagery. I love the line "symphonic hammer tolls the truth"

Mysterious amd dark - great metaphors of life and death. I love the message in this.
