Untitled Unresolved

Untitled Unresolved

A Poem by Brad Nugent

the rancid acrid stench
of relationship postmortem
seeps through the stale void
left by a love long gone
into the cracks wrought by
unimagined deviation
from the blueprint once created
and clung to like a lifeline
with an obstinate hand
well hardened by the compress
of heaped hotheaded hurt
a patchy reality wrenched
by emotions left untamed
to a lone hallucination
unkempt, unloved, unreigned

this poem shows such insight to the human condition... the bitterness and sometimes hatred that replaces the once loudly pronounced statements of love.

For everyone who has had the experience of relationship breakdown, JB. Thank God for the transitory state of negative human emotions.

Did you write this for me? It says it all, really. Great writing - I am in awe as always.
