Butterflies and GoosebumpsA Poem by Brad NugentI questions how much of our lives rely on good luck or blind misfortune far to go fate spins loaded dice over the goosebump storm tossed waves through the random flutter of a butterfly wing we see which lightning lit turn in the fork we will choose in the moment of destiny's pause so what might you do to poor little me as the owls peer over the moonlit beach mourning their maybe might have been somethings will you hedge bets and not risk your hand even if in the end you are cold and lonesome or will you risk all and gamble fate's bluff to find all the warmth and shared indulgence you need and deserve or perhaps just leave all those decisions to me II responses raindrops fall from a storm ravaged sky the icy invasion meets soft warm flesh goosebumps rise in silent defence cold only reaching the depth of skin never touching that eternal flame of secret indulgence of simple delight of skin against skin in the deep of the night the memory of gentle persuasion and sweetness and beauty enough to set butterflies rolling and chase the cold away forever © 2011 Brad NugentReviews
