Temporomandibular Lullaby

Temporomandibular Lullaby

A Poem by Brad Nugent
"

"Written for the Creative Poetry group"

"

soothed by the sound

of symptomatic grinding teeth

into the bittersweet

sepulchre of sleep

drawn softly to

the undertow

of the Undertaker's arms

embracing the postmortem

of enmeshed illumination

answering graved mantles

with assimilated psalm

chorused ideology

sinking

becalmed

a soundless cyclical eulogy

prepared with the precision

of a tombstone hammer

caressing dysfunctional bones

for their tainted treasure

I have read this before and did not realise that I hadn't given it a review!

I think your gift is that you take the weekly words and create something so different to anyone else. Your interpretation of the words is always so clever and your vocabulary is extraordinary. I feel that I learn something about our incredible language every time I read one of your poems!! DId you think yourself the teacher?? Lol!

This is a great poem and the flow is done very well. The word project a clear picture and I like the use of the word lullaby in this poem it helps create a mental image of what you are talking about.
