Wheelchair window

Wheelchair window

A Poem by Lloyd
"

I was thinking one day about how awesome life is to watch from my window. I see all kinds of things that are perhaps, unexpected. Then I thought, what if the window was my only view........

"

A hot little blonde in a shiny black Porsche,

A brunette in tight shorts riding a horse.

A fine little Redhead, lying by her van.

Her long shiny legs, oiled up for tan.

Every kind of woman in the summer sun,

Dressed for each other and ready for fun.

I sit at my window and stare through the glass,

Playing roulette and smoking grass.

I ride these wheels, legs won’t carry me.

Watching a world, that I wish would bury me.

I know neither of love nor the touch of another.

No smiling wife, no father, no mother.

I smoke my mind, to dull the thought.

Of pain and shame another day brought.

I sit at this window and stare through the glass.

Loathing this life and smoking grass

.

I kinda wrote this with a tune in mind, as if it were going to be sung.. but I left it alone after awhile. Anyhow, that's why it has the rhyme.. I'm not real fond of the rhyme, but...

Thats the cool thing about poetry, you can sing it too if you are so inclined. Well, if it rhymes that is.This is well portrayed, quite short, and nicely said. I was reminded to be thankful for the basics.............which I sometimes forget.

this flows nicely. the imagery is good and as I was picturing it in my mind, I felt the squareness of the window and how it would feel to be so helpless feeling.
I am not a big rhymer either when I write however it comes out sometimes, and you did a good job.

peace,
D

I really liked the poem and the rhyme scheme fit it well. It is a sad write though almost made me cry you did.
Beautiful in its sadness I should say a lovely write.
