A Fire Started

do not give too much credit to others for your feelings; you are the master of them.

you started a fire

a hot flame that burned my heart

eliminated my troubles in and out

with a mind of searing conflicts

and a quest to your forfeit

an unquelled flame of desire

letting me frail and wearily dire

I kept your ways and did adhere

you started a fire

surviving without you

I died

learning the rhythm of life 

many days a time

w'out you with me I cried

but the pain left me with time

now I do not grieve nor whine

'cos you had no fire but mine

This is a wonderful poem. I enjoyed the use of language and the deep passion, the pure dedication in your love. Unrequited it may be but the purity of devotion is a beautiful thing. I enjoy your style and am looking forward to more of your writing.
A few editing suggestions Second to last verse I felt that grieve might fit better than grief, also "i died" use a capital for I.
