Striving

Striving

A Poem by Boxcat

A faint glow from far away
It shines past all the dismay
You try to reach the far off light.
You run toward the marvelous sight

As you run you grow tired
Still far away from the joy you desired
You fall to the ground and start to crawl
But the light still seams to enthrall

Your happiness has gone away
You look at the unreachable light
And now you are too tired
Too tired to even crawl.

Discipline. The discipline to keep trying until you can't... and eventually we all reach that point, where we no longer "can". That's what I think of when I read this poem.

But I don't think of it in a negative way when I read this. I think of it in more of an observational way. I'm not a huge fan of this poem's cadence but I really like what I took intellectually from this (and light).
