Light

Light

A Poem by Boxcat

Light:

The pastors lie
they hide what’s true
So how do I know
What I should do

I turned to my parents
They turned away
They said they couldn’t love me
Because I am gay

I tried escaping
But I got reported
The doctors said
My view of life was distorted

I know I’m sick
I know I’m not right
But how can I see
If I don’t have a light?

Sparely put and well rhymed. I wonder about the diagnosis hinted at in the last verse.
