A Poem by r. f. jordan

bourne of truth into apparent decimation
clarity/

that only shapeshifter - retrospection
as this distant mist veils before that orange peel of an unseen sun
this left behind flourescence
begins to contrast amidst this gaining grey of lavenders

i have knelt beneath spirits mightier than i
and asked for directions to dispel my insurrections
i have trembled beneath that strongly solidified hand of revelations

i have wandered directionless and without any fire of beyond

i have purported dictates in an attempt to show a shine
so that i might gain a light that already streaks before me-
gargantuan and baffling

i have climbed beneath that weight of destiny

i have shrunk into that concept of eternity

i have been humbled by passion
and strengthened by compassion
i have been ignited by dreams
and ripened by failures

i, alone, have done none of this without some certain spelling of god

to sift those ideals from these realities
to drain that water of temptation
from this nourishment of love
to equate this ethereal with that seemingly mundane
is to unravel those heavens from this earth i cry within
a cry that staples those stars into this night enclosing me
a cry that sets
that which seems encumbered
free
a cry of simultaneous joy and sorrow
a cry i hope to cry tomorrow
tears that build like steps
so that i might climb into that blind darkness
of a garden never to be hardened
by these once imminent rains

of falsities like time

-- i'm an atheist on most days but i can still understand the essence of your message... -- if i were to start quoting my favourite lines, i'd end up quoting this entire prayer... and this again reminds me of stained glass art work in cathedrals... -- absolutely exquisite poetry... as exquisite as poetry ought to be...
