The Darkness

The Darkness

A Poem by BowKitty

Trying, trying, reaching for the sky,
Watching as all the others fly by,
Stuck in this pit of dark despair,
Oh, this just isn't fair...

The loneliness weighs me down,
Pulling farther, making me drown
In the dark cold depths of soul,
Never again will I be whole.

Waiting, wishing, for help to come,
Someone to pull me out, to help me to become
Something other than a shadow in the night,
Someone to love and bring me light.

But is it really safe, to love?
To be lifted high above?
The higher you fly, the harder you fall,
You can be happy, but lose it all...

Oh, this darkness can't be worse,
Than falling from love's happy course?
Can't decide to try or stay...
Can't these feelings just go away?
