Mystery of The Sea

Mystery of The Sea

A Story by Hayllie
"

I put as a story, because it's not very "poem" material..but realistically non of my work is lol The old wives tales talk of the dangers lurking in the sea. A Mystery that is truly never ending

"
She lives below. Under the surface where our eyes don't meet.
Hers, beautiful pearls of blue matching her home
mesmerizing you with a single glance.
I sit on the sand, waiting. Watching for the slightest glimmer
Gorgeous raven hair, cascading around a delicate angelic face. Tempting me
to make a move towards the water.
How can such a beautiful creature, be so deadly?
Her voice, like a smooth whiskey melody
piercing you in your heart your mind and your soul.
Reaching to the depths, pulling from you, your eternal self.

I tried to stop them. It was no use.
They took that step. They let in her voice. They let the demon inside.
The voice playing with your mind like whiskey
pulled him below. To suffer the fate of countless others.
"The look of an angel, but the chaos of the devil" playing a disgusting game
Luring men in, to die. That voice...That voice

I  took that step. I know maybe somewhere deep down I shouldn't...
Her hypnotic voice pulls me. "Come...come to me...Your skin I must feel..."
My feet touch the cool water, the crashing waves against the sand
pushing me away, as if in warning. Turn back.
A moment's hesitation.
Another step in.
The touch of her hand
So gentle. So intoxicating. The once mistake of so many
claiming yet another. Down.
To the bottom to another world. What will death feel like? Painful or excruciating?

Now it's my turn.
Looking at the beautiful soul sitting upon the sand
Staring out into the vast emptiness of the ocean.
Poor girl. What's empty above is merely a ploy to hide below.
No voice to sing, but a handsome physic to lure you in
Stay away they say, but when your eyes meet mine.
You'll have no choice. You will belong to me.
Come. Let me show you the wounder you haven't seen.
An endless game, with no true winner, has chosen it's next opponent.

Muse turn siren. A deadly dance.
"You'll have no choice. You will belong to me.
Come. Let me show you the wounder you haven't seen.
An endless game, with no true winner, has chosen it's next opponent."
The above lines are true and when beautiful things steal our heart. No turning back. Powerful and wonderful story shared dear Hayllie.

"The look of an angel... but the chaos of the devil"- The comparison is enchanting Hayllie.

"An endless game, with no true winner, has chosen it's next opponent," - I love the manner in which you form your lines.

The way you use imagery, similes, the metaphoric use of language to showcase the persona of the situation. It captivates me. Well done
