![]() Being Mom...A day in The Life.A Poem by Hayllie![]() since mother's day is upon us..I figured what better way than to describe the "fun" and "never ending" wild adventures of being a mom.![]() Mom. Such a job. If you have children, grown or still little, then you know all to well the fantastic struggles that ensue. Add being a wife and the job becomes a 40 hour week times..a thousand. No longer are you free to enjoy even a moment alone. No longer can you enjoy a nice relaxing sit down, in the recliner after a long day. Sixty pounds combined climb on your lap and begin to use your legs as a trampoline. Gone are the days that you can use the restroom in peace. Tiny feet at the door, calling: "Mommy are you done? What are you doing in there by yourself?" The days of sitting and watching a movie, able to hear every word; now I fight to find a angle to where I can even see the TV, much less hear what is said. Even at night when I think I may actually get a second alone reality plays a sick, cruel joke as tiny hands pull on my skin, trying and failing at climbing atop my huge mattress. "Mommy can I lay with you? I not fall asleep, I be real still." I roll my eyes and sit up I gently pick one up as the other begins to wake and join along. They will only be little for a little while, so like many nights before I smile as they lay between me and their dad. All smiles and laughs as they accept their new bed. They know exactly what they are doing. Such little turds! I love them so. They are hilarious. I envy the nights of being able to breath when I sleep, but now my nose is blocked by a pair of chunky legs, and my hair is constantly pulled as she says that she cant sleep without playing with mommy's hair. In the end I smile because they are precious and they are my loves. I would give them my very lungs if they needed. Mom. Such a job. Such a wonderful thing. 6 hours of labor for one, 14 and 1/2 for the last. Both absolutely perfect The greatest achievement of my life, my saving grace. Being Mom..A day in The Life...One of the best experiences I have ever had God's perfect reminder that I am exactly what he wanted to be... A Mom! Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely mother's out there I hope you reach out to your mother and remind her of these very things. You may have once been hard and took time to get used to, but God gave you to her to show her what Love Is! <3
