Railway Fools

Railway Fools

A Poem by Mark Witterick

Who is to blame?

Why?
I do wonder
How did I end up here?

I thought it was love,
I was wrong.
For in love you can choose.

Some said I was crazy.
Some said I was a fool.
I said we are in love.

My heart fooled.
My mind manipulated.
Too late now.

I hear the whistle
I feel the kiss.
Cold as stone.

Then I feel nothing again.
For now
The train hits.

This was really interesting to read. To me it says something about how love can blind people. This poem has a great flow as phillip said, I also enjoyed the short lines and stanzas as they moved quickly towards the end like a train barrelling down a track. Really liked these lines:

I hear the whistle
I feel the kiss.
Cold as stone.

Well done!
