Prayer

Prayer

A Poem by ObscenePersephone
"

A small prayer/letter to my Goddess one evening that poured out and even though it's not perfect, I didn't want to change it.

"

My Goddess,
I know you are a
creation - I am not
yours - yet you
are as real as all
the blades and leaves
and more constant

than any toll
or echo. This trust,
my faith, is not
wishful, but rational.
Your nameless, formless,
godless love doesn't call
me, doesn't require conversion,
doesn't pave a good path to your
righteous side.
You ask nothing
but my nature.

~

When I struggle, you
don't whip my head towards
the light. When I fight, you
don't whisper for calmness.
When I drink from every cup
you don't cork the bottle.

You wait for my own decision.
You pause as the dance ends.
You never fill the silence.
Best of all, you don't offer redemption.
To you, I was always clean.

About
I've wanted to be a writer since I was five. It's the only job I can really see myself in. Despite this, for years I couldn't envision it for myself, as being good at it, or able to create anything wo.. more..
