You

You

A Poem by Lefty78
"

I think you'll get it

"

My feelings for you are like children on my heart

They dance on the surface

Skipping, laughing

They scream with glee at the sight of you

And they miss you when you’re gone

I wish there was a way to show you

Or I wish the children would go away

And find another heart to haunt

I don’t know which

Please don’t make me tell you about the kids

I don’t know if I want them to grow up

To mature and blossom

To become a part of my soul and never forgotten

I don’t know if I want you to become another one

A child of my soul I’ve tried to remove

Partially torn from the soul

Still lingering

Another one I’m utterly incapable of forgetting entirely
