Little bird

Little bird

A Poem by Lefty78
"

I have the flu, this could be born of delerium

"

It was as if she were a bird I had caged to my chest

She wanted to be free of her cage

Free to fly

So she pecked through flesh and bone, until

She was pecking at my heart

It hurt.

She could feel my pain, could sense her victory

And so her attack became more intense

Until I fell to my knees

And set her free

I should have done it sooner
