Medusa

Medusa

A Poem by Boring~Potato

Medusa and I are alike in many ways

Two misunderstood souls lost in a haze

Both cursed with a power we cannot control

Turning everything we touch into stone cold

Her serpentine locks strike fear in hearts

My words hold the power to tear worlds apart

Both isolated by our deadly touch

Feeling the weight of so much

We long for connection, for understanding

But our curse keeps others from expanding

They fear us, avoid us, shun us away

Leaving us to wander in darkness and dismay

But deep down, beneath the fearsome mask

Lies a longing for love, a desire to bask

In the warmth of acceptance and grace

To feel like we have a place

So let us not be judged by our exterior

But look beyond the surface, be the curator

Of empathy and kindness, see the human within

For Medusa and I, we are not just a sin.
