The Day Is Here, The Day That Grew Near

The Day Is Here, The Day That Grew Near

A Poem by Adam Faison

Today is the day
The day that kept growing near
I hoped it just wouldn't come
But of course it did
The day I poured my heart out to you
And the day I lost you to him
It's hard to believe that it has already been a year
A year since you gave your heart away
Away to him
I've watched all this time
Watched you give your love to him
It kills me inside
And it makes me cry on the outside
The worst part is not understanding
Not understanding how you stay with him
You seem sad almost all the time
And you come to me always
To tell me what's wrong
And it almost always has to do with him
I would never hurt you
Never not listen
Always love you
I just want you to see that he is not good for you
But maybe i'm not either
Because you are so awesome
So beautiful
I only want you to see
See how much I love you
And hope that maybe you will one day choose me
And make me the happiest man on earth
I only love you
And I will forever
Please make the day that grew near better
Please make it a day I can look forward to
Instead of a day I dread
I leave you with these last few words
I love you Taylor
And I always will

This is so sweet and beautiful. You always write such lovely poems about the girl that clearly has your heart. I can only hope you share some with her, maybe then she'd know, if she doesn't already, how you feel about her. Lovely job, I really enjoyed it, as always. x
