Love Lasts, Even If a Friend Doesn't

Love Lasts, Even If a Friend Doesn't

A Poem by Adam Faison

They are gone
The person you love
The one that used to be your closest friend
They changed and moved on
They say it's your fault
But it is really not
You put up with this stupid reasoning for a while
But then you finally gave up
You finally moved on as they did
You loved them
More than they ever known
But now they will never know your love
Because they moved on first
They left you lying in the dirt
Suffocating from the dust
But then you stood up and knocked off the dirt
And began to move on
They may be gone
Never to be seen again
But know this
Love lasts, even if a friend doesn't

Author's Note

Adam Faison
This poem is a change that I am going to make in my life. I am going to move on since my old friend did. I loved them dearly, more than they knew. But now I am moving on with my love in my heart, always with the help of my sis Brooke.

I can relate to this in so many ways, and it almost saddens me to know anyone else can. Amazing write, nonetheless. I wish you luck in moving on, it gets easier with every passing day.
