Dead Silence

Dead Silence

A Poem by Adam Faison

Their breath shallows
Their eyelids begin to grow heavy
You look at them as they lay on their final resting place
As their chest slowly stops moving
Tears drop from your face
They shake their head and touch your hand
You say you love them
But as they move their lips
No sound comes out
Only silence
Dead silence

This has a very ethereal and surreal quality about it. I read it because of the title. It is one of my favorite horror movies. I'm so glad that I did.

Thanks!
Really sad and emotional poem. It kind of reminds me of my grandparents before they departed... Nonetheless, it is very well written, and kudos to you.

You're very welcome Adam
This has such an echo of melancholy when you reach the end. The words that echo are your title. Very well written, but very sad.
