ValorA Poem by JessieInspired by the battle for Helm's Deep. (Lord of the Rings, 2 Towers)Valor: (noun) Great courage in the face of danger. When a man enters a battle Which he knows he is going to lose He fights like there is no tomorrow Ignoring each blow and new bruise He ignores any pain he may suffer He will fight till he meets bitter end His sword or his axe will swing heavily Until into death he descends He does all this in the face of death As he faces Heaven’s parlor He goes on into the bloody fray With consistent acts of valor If men find heart when confronted by doom And the hopeless loss of living Why is it that all men don’t live this way. When the bucket we all will be kicking? If every man is born to die To meet in Heaven’s parlor Why is that we all don’t live With constant acts of valor?© 2013 JessieAuthor's Note
