DAY THIRTHY-EIGHTA Chapter by AnnabelleDay thirty-eight My sleep had been interrupted
by the blaring sounds of the alarm. I had groggily crawled out of my bed and
looked out of the window. The peaceful streets were crowded by families rushing
into their buildings with soldiers shouting at them to hurry whilst other
soldiers were running around with weapons. They all ran into the same direction
and I just knew that the walls had been breached. No longer was this base safe.
The sick had found our
base and they must have realized that this was the place scared and defenseless
people would go. To hide away from the horrors that were happening all around
the world.
I had quickly jumped
away from the window and left the room in search of my family. I had stormed
out of the safe building and ignored the surprised and angry yells from the
soldiers telling me to get back inside.
When I had pushed
pasted the frantic people trying to get into the building I began screaming for
my mum and sister. No one replied. I kept searching and yelling for them until
I was the last civilian outside. Most of the soldiers were gone too. They had
all left to leave the safe walls of the base and go to fight for everyone
inside. I wandered around the military base looking for my family. I hoped that
they had managed to get into one of the building before the doors were locked
and that they were safe. My worst fear was that they had been close to the
walls when the sick had attacked and that they were two of the first victims in
this base.
Thankful that I had
taken my dagger with me I began making my way back to the building. I knew that
chances of me being let in were small but at least I would be somewhat safe
there.
I had smashed the
window of a car that had been parked in front of the building and had crawled
in, hiding behind the drivers seat on the floor. © 2017 AnnabelleAuthor's Note
