Out Of Reach

Out Of Reach

A Poem by Jordan Avechuco
"

Had a lot on my mind lately.

"
Most of my memories are bad,
I can only recall the mistakes I've made.
Except for you,
When I think of you I remember all the good we had
But I guess that was my mistake
Letting go
And now you're out of reach.

You're like a song floating in my head,
I can't get you out and I don't really know that I want to.
Your melody brings me peace
But this peace only masks the poison in me
And I can't escape the dread of this passion lost.
Buried in denial I know I was wrong
And with the path you've taken I have this powerful urge
To save you from your demons
But you don't want me anymore.

Tell me if your world stopped spinning would you take my hand.
Would you let me pull you from oblivion and bring you back to where you belong?
Would you forgive my mistakes and accept me for my flaws?

I'm done with this weightlessness
End these regretful memories,
Anchor my soul back to it's rightful place,
And sing me your lullaby
My beautiful siren.
