Sleepless For The Thousanth TimeA Poem by Jordan AvechucoLonely nights, Forever wasted in this room. My mind is so clogged that sleep is a mere fantasy. Can't drive, Don't drink, Though sometimes I wonder why I don't. Sure would help my nerves. So much I want to say, Yet so little is ever said. You have no idea how much this hurts, To see you flirt with others, Chasing them instead of me. But alas that is simply how it goes, Not a damn thing I can do to change it. So much to say, Too little to try. I bite my tongue to keep our world at ease, My little words could crumple it all. But you already knew that didn't you? You already knew that your smile could bring the dead back to life. You already knew that my heart begs for you embrace. But it is not what is known that you need worry, It is what remains hidden that could shake you, Shake you and show you just how empty my soul is without you. Never doubt what emptiness can make a man do, Never doubt how much power you really have, And never forget what it feels like to be alone with just your fears to keep you company.
