I Have A Type

I Have A Type

A Poem by Bonnie Paige

Arriving at the start, where the ending began. Thought it was only today's world lesson.
Blue, hazel, ' I'm attracted to you. They say I have a type.
Memories ringing through repeated times, the same rhythmic results. Things I loved about them, making the mistakes again and again on my universal wheel.

You were the beginning instantly becoming the end as you sang:
"I WHO HAVE NOTHING."
Echoing all the way home.
We fought the ending doing battle with the changing times.
WE LOST

I moved forward, he having hair so silky, shiny black, hazel eyes that watched my every move.
He called me child, child that never grew up. I moved forward on my universal wheel.

Once more I met my dream in silky, shiny blond, or brunette, blue or hazel all repeating what could not be fixed. East, West, North or South he and I were never to be found.

In my old age my friend is my first. Still the funnyman, the odd and strange with words that come full circle. I search no more. I'm off my universal wheel!
My time has reached E.

An honest and well laid appraisal of yourself.. and to each her/his own, of course. But, whilst searching for a 'type', perhaps you were shutting your mind to discovering a real life 'human being'? That said, tis great to read that the first remains a friend; friendships are or can be beautiful. Can't they! Thanks lots Bonnie, Hoping your world is being kind to you.. keep safe. Please.

Thank you emmajoy . I've cut back on my writing since the wedding of my daughter, death of our dog and death of my brother has kept my emotions tangled up. I should be writing as these are big things but I feel removed and stuck. Started to write about my brother and this came out instead.
I see you're very active on Writers Cafe good for you! Do you have a book of your poems published yet?
