Loves Last Call

Loves Last Call

A Poem by Bonnie Paige

Dropped like rain's final tear.
Such a flood of sweet droplets that came before and during our existence.
Your lips never moved to truth's meanings, but I loved the words and let them live.
All this I endured willingly

First sight closed off all those who could have come bearing honest words, honest emotions.
I allowed your untruths to glide past my soul knowing the user in you.

My only hope was for a new light of truth rising like the fiery dawn of the Phoenix.

But, passing time of life froze my heart in the distance of the past. Only three remain, in memories of heavenly times.
There are no others.

Why was such time wasted searching for love's desires when I could have been spared such inhumanity, and used until I was empty?

You...the last returned love of the three shut the door and turned the key.
I...Not knowing what tomorrow brings, feels surely heaven awaits nearby in my future. Only there, only then, Will God have my true answers.

Such deep hurt in these lines. To feel that you have been played and used is savage. I felt that shutting of the door and the turning of the key in all its finality. Time heals so they say, but I question that. Never give up on your writing Bonnie.

dearest Bonnie... some day when we take our last breath... we will see the light. Once when I was recovering from a Major operation (at my daughter’s home), I had a vision while I was awake of lights in pastel colors in sunshine beams across the large family room. I will never forget the phenomenon... a premonition of how it must be to pass beyond this earthly home.
Your poetry is a reflection of what we will experience in the bye and bye...
😽 with prayers and blessings, Pat

I've been away from writing a sort of drop out from life. But writing is not just a part of me but I am writing. So as much as I closed off life I could not escape wanting to write. I heard a word and then this poem was born from it.
