Accepting Your Way

Accepting Your Way

A Poem by Bonnie Paige

I beg no more to stop the end, to stop the silence, to stop the WHY of your disappearance.
Your way became my agreed path.

No more waiting for your changing heart to fall down on mine.
You reached the top of my world then sent my soul crashing down into hell.
But...all along we did it your way.

The moon, the stars, and the darkness of night became my life's drug from the loss of your existence. Your beautiful life never to be entwined with mine.
Seeing no danger in being us, I had no fear from our lack of mortal touch.
Still the suffering came like a furious storm.
But...all along we did it your way.

My iPhone no longer causes my eyes to look.
My iPhone has no precious moments to hear your voice, nor read your words. Just echoes of what use to be, remains.
But...all along we did it your way.

Days turned into nights, weeks into months, I finally found a pathway.
Messenger flickered one time, eagerly was I ready to travel that road again.

Foolish me! I'd grown stronger and breathed life without you.
In my calmness, my thoughts found a walkway towards a peaceful mind.
You silently let me go.
But...now I will do it my way.

Dear Bonnie, you took the reader on a journey to learning and understanding.
"You silently let me go.
But...now I will do it my way."
I did like the above ending. After we learn the truth, we must move on. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Your narrative style of poetry is balanced, and I like it. Over time you may exchange a word or so out for another (like we all do) to heighten the flow and verbal ring this poses.
The story is strong and leads us along side this struggle.

I enjoy narrative poems, and I enjoyed discovering this it is a strong choice to give a story flare.

Such a sad courageous way of moving on.. a lesson in how to learn a lesson gently but wisely. Perhaps.

Your way of writing - each phrases in lieu of a chapter, really exceeds the need for a tome, you put words with such natural emotion, your finale almost expected. Guess self assurance comes in the placing of letters written via the head, not the aching heart. Perhaps?

You're certainly doing that..
Sometimes we can lose ourself totally in a relationship. We can lose the sound of our own voice, so when things don't work out and we have to move on, it can be incredibly difficult. We have to learn to live and love ourselves again. Thank you Bonnie.
