JUST ONE MORE BROKEN HEARTA Poem by Bonnie Paige
Dawn at 5:55 A.M. comes to rescue me from another dark and restless night.
My voice no longer thrills him, is not needed. My written words on his long and lonely journeys not wanted anymore. My latest pictures erased from his sight. Is it really over now? Is there no turning back to brighter times or happier days? Dawn...the awakening from my shattered dreaming. Slowly life guides me into the living world. Is there nothing about my world you miss? Does nothing about us haunt your days? As the nights still have me seeking just a word that answers WHY? Ghostly memories from our past and our present drags the new day along. Then in the silent still of night I hear my broken heart beating...why did you get over me before I got over you? Head pressed against my pillow, eyes closing to the sound of songs in the air, I fall asleep knowing IT'S REALLY OVER NOW!!! But I'm the broken one who doesn't know how to mend. © 2019 Bonnie PaigeAuthor's Note
