White Velvet

White Velvet

A Poem by Bonnie Paige

Gentle flakes of silent white ceased their falling for a moment yesterday.  I hardly noticed.
Pictured scenery of dressing earth brought to thought by vivid visuals from your voice.

Momentarily drifting caused feelings of warmth from the white velvet blanket now covering frozen earth.  Clearly,
I was being beckoned to its calming beauty by your sonnet.

Transformed into a winter wonderland the scene glittered of its brightest jewels, reflecting from the rays of sun on the earth's new masses.
all that you painted drew me deeper into my soul that melted into your spirit...but I don't know why?

What once challenged my anger, my hate - now chipped away towards my love.  Again came forth of you a newer day, Tap, Tap, Tapping away at my heart. What a wonder it is to be alive!

The cold winter wind brushed past your window.  It was not my eyes of frozen brown that looked upon the celestial scene - but heaven's deepest velvet blue.  Not my voice that created the chorus song for love of white velvet... I don't know why
                                                                                                     I stopped you.
                                          IT'S ONLY SNOW!
