The Heart Wants What it Wants

The Heart Wants What it Wants

A Poem by Bonnie Paige

Born, I am from their torrent option.
Still wondering from the maddening colors in
 their eyes.
All those who played my muse - I suffered yet still
                          I wait even now!
Greater passion I could never give as I watched from
their demanding distance.  I have but only one heart
to flood their world, yet still
                           I wait even now!
All that I am, all that I have been, I dreamed, desired, craved,
knelt down in silent prayers have abandoned me to the lonely space
of unrequited.
I know I've loved alone yet still
                            I wait even now!

There are many ways to speak toward ...your thoughts. They echo within so many people - lost in their self-protecting spaces - spaces that shield them from reaching beyond their comfort into the unknown where they RISK being noticed - especially by those whom they themselves DIDN'T notice either.

Thank you all for your kind words. It helps when someone says exactly how they feel about the poem and their words reflect the meaning I was trying to create.

When love overtake us. Can't be stopped.
"I know I've loved alone yet still
I wait even now! "
I liked and I understood the above lines. Thank you Bonnie for sharing the amazing poetry.

sounds like me...sometimes i feel like Taylor Swift...getting into and out of relationships to write songs...i seem to do it to write poems...not on purpose, though.

but we keep waiting for that one, don't we?
