The Dragon FlyA Poem by Bonnie Paige
Hovering round in circular low - from back, to front, lingering from corner to window.
The keepers of his old stone house watch in wonder, to this curious sudden flight. Nearer to them, but not near me. Closer in distance, but spaces away...I was amused. Inspecting the showcase of his life, there was no fear of that which meant no harm. But the keepers of his old stone house stood annoyance still --- at the intruder's fluttering flight. Don't fear the visiting dragon fly, it's only Edger, a come a visiting on such an unexpected Spring like day. A cry rang out "lost", must be his way, from the keepers of his old house. A hand that reached the knob up front --- opened wide the chamber door to help his pending escape. Tried in vain the keepers fret, they could not turn the dragon fly out. Lower still the dragon fly flew upon the keeper's head it THUNKED ! I entered from the door in front but leave I shall from the enchanted garden rear. © 2017 Bonnie PaigeReviews
