Night PhantomA Poem by Bonnie Paige
Breath deep within the sanctuary of euphoric sleep there lay the peace, I do not feel. Breath deep within the sanctuary of euphoric sleep a rest of mind, I never reach. You are the beating thunder that pounds away at my soul. The race to my heart that opens up the skies and removes my rhythmic breath. In this evening of our re encounter, You hold me close, I am alive. Arms like temporary shielding steel...awakens me. Momentary peace takes over my tormented spirit. My soul dances for you once again. Step away, to time away, to distance away, to safety you stay. There gentle glance, back upon my face -you felt-. Fear took over all. How far into this night of darkness will you dare to enter? Once more I gather the memories. Your face, now older, your eyes that first drew me up into the blue skies of heaven, raced me there again. Oh fleeting time, I look to gather swiftly...to lips and hands to fingers and tips, legs and arms, upward traveling, neck and shoulders your body all I must remember. Before this evening closes into the night. Breath deep within the sanctuary of my room. I sleep the quiet sleep of REM. At peace upon your spectral mortal essence. The dawn brings reality only as I cross the path of peace and rest... Now slowly awakening me to the covenant of day. Returning me to just the distant voice of my PHANTOM D.
