WITH THIS LIFE

WITH THIS LIFE

A Poem by Bonnie Paige

Can't you hear the pounding thunder; It's my heart that's breaking the silence.  Vibrating! Quivering, and resounding through the long distance air of time.
Stuck...living for the emptiness of tomorrow.  Eyes wide open for today despite the lasting unchangeable past dragging out the weight of my chains.

Back...to the shame, back to the sorrow, back to the painful memory of his youthful love.

On a dormant bed it lay so deeply - waiting!

That one thing...tiny spark - awakens me directly to the drama, crystal deep is heavens blue, eyes that pierced my soul: has yet to let me go.

Always and forever my guardian Muse, twisted, broken, tortured, driven by my past 'til death it rings - loud and clear - our final parting.

very emotive..the form captured me right away .. smooth read .. such passion in ones life tied to past and future ..really like how you address that .. i think Janis Joplin called this situation a "..ball and chain" ;)

Yes Einstein Noodle, One of three balls and chains. I managed to escape two but of the Three (as written in the Three) I guess my heart chose wrong. Sometimes a poem is just a poem.

This poem is being published in an anthology by Eber and Wein. I didn't enter a contest or ask to be in this book. The only way this Co. Could have got this poem is from this site... So all those who hope to get noticed by being at writerscafe. It is possible someone trained notice. My only concern is when I've had my poems in anthologies before they asked and had me sign a release form. This co. Just informed me that it was to be in an anthology. This poem has 718 views on this sight.

There is feel of gut wrenching pain of the past memories something that had been haunting the poet each and every day... Quite beautifully it speaks of the struggle that the poet is going through... Some memories are hard to forget and the more we try to cast them out the more they come to haunt us... A relatable write to the reader...
