End Of An Era

End Of An Era

A Poem by Alex W
"

True story relating to incidents over the last few years

"

Oh how I miss those long gone days,

Where we would ride the night away,

Upon our bikes both loud and fast,

Hoping that the night would last.

Unfortunately, these days are gone,

Our numbers faded one by one.

Some lived on and some did not,

Yet not one of them will be forgot.

So my friend, it's you and I,

And as we say our last goodbye,

I can't help but feel so very sad,

About the times that we once had.

And now you leave me all alone,

You go away without your phone,

So we may never meet again,

And I have lost an old true friend.

A sadness runs throughout this rhyme,

And i'm sure that it will heal in time,

But now my souls a little hollow,

So I will drink untill tommorrow,

Until my heart has said its piece,

And peacefully i'll fall to sleep.

Where i'll dream of times so fun,

like you and I sat drinking Rum.

Goodbye Damien, my Jamaican friend.

I'll remember you, untill the end.

Author's Note

Alex W
Just wrote it straight from the heart really, a rare sad piece from me I think, I don't do many.

A tribute to my friend, who will probably never see it. I wish i'd never had to write it.

I'll fix mistakes later.

This is soo touching, even with some hints of humor in there. I do really like your writing style; it's rare to find such a writer who can mix humor with sentiment. I'm sure your friend, if he ever reads this, will forever have a smile stamped on his face! :D Thanks for the read!
