My Dream Job.

My Dream Job.

A Poem by Alex W
"

Actually True.

"

I have always been a fighter,

I almost died very young,

But I decided to delay my passing,

so I could have some fun.

I have always had a love for death,

and mine will be spectacular,

for I have always wanted to die,

as a famous gladiator.

That would be my dream job,

to hear the crowds loud roar,

and to fight these fellow brave combatants,

until one of us hits the floor.

To pass the time, I would drink ale,

and win a ladies heart.

then back to the arena,

where a fighters head from neck i'll part.

And when I do finally die,

I know that as I fall,

the crowd will rise from off their seats,

and for me they'll applaud.

Fortunately; that times not yet,

for that whole heroic saga,

so I think i'll try to pull that blonde,

and have another lager.

Just a quick poem about something that I have always wanted.

I wrote this in around 10 minutes and so it's not my best work. But enjoy it anyway :-)

You didn't need more than 10 minutes to write this. An excellent poem that has dark undertones to it and yet a bit of fun. I think that's how life is, however. I like this one.

This stanza made me laugh:
"To pass the time, I would drink ale,
and win a ladies heart.
then back to the arena,
where a fighters head from neck i'll part."

And being that gladiator is your dream job seems that you like to be violent. Love how you use flow and make this poem stand out with both laughs and seriousness.

Okay, soo even though you only wrote it in 10 mins, I think that time necessarily doesn't matter, just how it comes out. I liked it, it had a mixture of wit and seriousness! :))
