As You Walk Away

As You Walk Away

A Poem by Shelly Farmer
"

Song Lyrics

"

The look on your face
Held me in place
As you turned and walked away.
I wanted to run, after you
But the whispers, of anger,
Were too strong.

Chorus:
If I pulled you aside
Told you all my soul's secrets
That I wanted, that I needed,
Had to have you, would you stay?
Would you stay if I made it,
My life's mission to redeem
My love to you
Could you leave this, and come back to me?

This weight that I carry
Is mine, to bare
So I'm dragging it along.
When spoken aloud,
It deepens, how
Can I run as it
Consumes me, now?

Chorus:
If I pulled you aside
Told you all my soul's secrets
That I wanted, that I needed,
Had to have you, would you stay?
Would you stay if I made it,
My life's mission to redeem
My love to you
Could you leave this, and come back to me?

2nd Chorus:
So I'll sit here, will not move
Never could explain to you
Everything you are, will ever be, be to me.
So don't think I care any less
When I know your heart's broken
Cannot bring myself, to leave myself
All to you.
