An Allegory For This

An Allegory For This

A Poem by Shelly Farmer
"

Song Lyrics about Love and realization.

"

I'm writing an allegory
For this
So I won't seem
Obvious
She said there's something
That you've missed
Makes me worthy
Of the Risk

And his eyes showed amusement
Of her anxiety
He wasn't used to
such abrupt propriety
Young girls are all the same
And maybe they won't change
Baring truth, she gave him hope
He could obtain

With deep breath
She looked away
Bracing words
He'd yet to say
As he began to
Part his lips
She bestowed him
A single kiss

And her eyes showed amusement
Of his anxiety
Shook her head just once
And smiled slightly
It was time to let him go
Always deeply she had known
Barring truth walked out
And promptly closed, the door
