Town Fool: A Duet

Town Fool: A Duet

A Poem by Bones-Guts-and-Flowers
"

Two poems written at different times, one before and one after my diagnosis of ADHD

"
(Town Fool)
Maybe I am all they see me to be
The Town Fool, with no substance behind her words
I want to be more than that
I want them to see I know things
That I understand them
That I am here for more than comedy and I am knowledgeable in more than silliness
But my tongue and my brain are in a boxing match

And I’m the only loser.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
((No Longer the) Town Fool)
I was not all they saw me to be.
No Town Fool, there’s substance to their words.
The concept of Self-Reconciliation:
In which the brain apologizes to the tongue and the tongue caresses the brain
And both heal the carrying case.
An ill brain poisons the tree,
But these roots can become healthy again.
There are no losers this time.
